About Me
Rosalind Kathryn Adam BA (Hons) Cert Ed
I used to be a teacher and now I'm a writer. I have taught in primary schools, secondary schools and in adult education. I've had plenty of chance to make comparisons and my conclusion is that young children are the most exciting to work with. It's to do with the magic of imagination and all those fresh thoughts.
My most recent publication is The Children's History of Leicester, published by Hometown World. In 2009 Bathtime Rap, a children's picture book published by Franklin Watts, was selected by Scholastic to be featured in their Nursery Education Magazine and on their website. A big thank you to Scholastic. I loved listening to their very small character rapping my words over the computer. More details of this and my other publications are listed on the Home Page.
In 2007 I completed a course on running therapeutic writing workshops and in 2008/09 I was lead facilitator of a Heritage Lottery funded reminiscence writing project which resulted in a book, a website and a touring display. I am proud to say that the Heritage Lottery team went on to use the project as an exemplar.
I have lived and worked in Leicester, UK, all my life. I was born Rosalind Kathryn Denning and was Ros Kloos for many years, before marrying Rod Adam in 1991. I have a blog called Rosalind Adam is writing in the rain. This is where I write for pure enjoyment. It might be about writing, the problems of life or whatever comes to mind. I hope to see you there soon. I can also be found on Twitter as @RosalindAdam.
